Dominick's (Safeway) Buy 5 Save $5!

After re-reading my Dominick's Trip post last night, I thought I would try to repost this deal and make it easier to understand. This week at Dominick's there is a sale to save $5 off when you buy any combination of 5 participating items in a single transaction with your Fresh Values Card. They have it advertised in 2 spots in the ad (on the inside flap and at the bottom of the front page of the ad). Its hard to tell if you can mix and match between the two lists or if they are separate deals (I did not mix between the two)...

UPDATE: I've been reading today that people who have mixed the two DID not get their discounts so be sure to keep the 2 deals in multiples of 5 of their own!

Here's are the free or almost free items on the list when you buy any combination of 5. Remember you MUST BUY 5 to get the discount:

it's per item? If I want 5 I need to bring in 5 coupons, right?

  2. Yes you would need 5 coupons if you bought 5, but the cellfire discount will only come off of 1. So if you have 5 $1/1 coupons it would look like this:

    5 Nature Valley Nut Clusters - $7.00
    Minus $1/1 Cellfire
    Minus 5 $1/1 coupons
$1 for all 5 bags of Nut Clusters

You could mix and match though with other items like you could do
    2 Nature Valley Nut Clusters - $3.00
    3 Quakers Squares Cereal - $3.00
Minus $1/1 Nature Valley Nut Cluster Cellfire
Minus 2 $1/1 Nature Valley Nut Cluster coupons
Minus 3 $1/1 Quaker Squares Cereal
    Final Price FREE!

  3. Thanks. Couple more questions since I've never done a Dominick's shop before. Can I do the deal twice in one transaction? (The same thing with the Grands) I have cellfire and shortcuts loaded. If I do 2 transactions will the coupons come off on each transaction or just once total? (Sorry to bug you.)

  4. You aren't bugging me at all:)!

Unfortunately Cellfire and shortcut discounts are one time only - so they only apply to one item (even if you buy 2 of the same thing) and they are only good for one transaction. They do offer the a lot of the same discounts frequently so its possible to double up if you loaded them twice (and sometimes Cellfire and Shortcuts have the same so then you can have a triple discount).

You CAN do the deal twice in one transaction, $5 will come off for each 5 that you buy. It says in the fine print limit 20, so you can stack it 4 deals high.

If you want to shoot me your proposed shopping list I'd be happy to take a look at it before you go :)!
