UNREAL Candy Party: Get Unjunked!

This weekend I had the pleasure of hosting an UNREAL Candy party during our families annual Halloween Camping Trip!  UNREAL™ exists because a thirteen year old boy asked one Halloween why candy needs to be so unhealthy. After an argument with his father, he did a bit of research only to find that candy is filled with bad things like hydrogenated oils and artificial colors and flavors. And what’s worse, he found out that those ingredients don’t make candy taste better, they simply make it cheaper to produce.

Nicky believed that candy without the junk could be made and that it would taste better. And he and his father and brother decided to prove it.  AND THEY DID!

UNREAL™ provides many of the great flavor combinations we love in our treats, but without the corn syrup, without the partially hydrogenated oils, without the GMOs, without the artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives, and with 40% less sugar per serving on average. The key ingredients are responsibly sourced, and the candy is available in the stores we all shop, at a price point we can all afford.

Currently there are 5 different varieties of candy available - Chocolate Candy Shell, Chocolate Peanut Candy Shell, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Chocolate Carmel Nougat, and Chocolate Carmel Peanut Nougat.

There were 27 people at our event from age 2 to age 68 and they all agreed that UNREAL tasted great!  Parents felt great about it being an alternative to mainstream candies and older folks commented that it tasted how candy USED to taste when they were a kid!  The chocolate tastes like real cocoa chocolate...not processed and oil based!  Here's an inside look at their peanut butter cups!

With no artificial dyes and coloring, the colors look a little different, but my husband says they were just as tasty!

Here's everyone picking out what different treats to sample!  Over all UNREAL Candy was a hit!  Several people mentioned they would actually buy this over other name brand candy and wanted to know where to find it (CVS, Walgreens, grocery stores with the regular candy)!

Want to learn more about UNREAL?  Check out this awesome video about how they make their candy and get their ingredients or visit their website!  Thanks UNREAL Candy for letting us try your amazing candy!

Disclosure:  I received free candy, information and a stipend for participating in this campaign.  All opinions are my own.

MommyParties: Neon Tiki Tribe Childrens Books

Both of my boys LOVE to read so when MommyParties invited me to share the new book series Neon Tiki Tribe, I was intrigued!  Neon Tiki Tribe is a new series of children's books featuring exciting stories with a positive message. Plus, all of the books feature Dyslexie, a font designed to help the 1 in 10 kids that display dyslexic symptoms.

Neon Tiki Tribe are "The Brightest Heroes on Earth!" They include Tribe members Tia, Zeke, Mowah and Dar, and use sunglasses that give them super-powers to defend Earth from the evil Ku Tiki Tribe.  Here is a sample of the books we received and shared with our friends!

This book series is great for elementary school age children 6-10 years old, who enjoy either hearing the stories or reading them on their own, as well as the lessons being taught.  If you'd like to get a sneak preview visit here.

My oldest son Mason, 9, really enjoyed the stories and it was very easy for him to read.  My younger son, 6, preferred the books being read to him.
